Reflect on life’s moments with Maya Dance Theatre at the ACE! Festival 2009

Maya Dance Theatre, in celebration of the ACE! Festival 2009 is proud to present a collaborative dance theatre production, entitled Moments, from June 4 to 6, 2009 at Drama Centre Black Box.

Moments is reflection of human behaviour, where individual stories are threaded through themes of identity, love, friendship, sense of belonging and life’s journey. It is told through the various mediums of performing arts – dance, music, voice, text, poetry and theatre. Directed by Ms. Kavitha Krishnan, Moments take us on a journey to discover the moment where life uncovers itself! It speaks about how we adapt to our ever changing world and also about the relationship we hold to life’s special and significant moments.

Showcasing a robust interpretation of music and dance, Moments intertwines dance vocabularies with theatrical elements; poetry and text become a source of inertia for the development of movements.  Moments creates a connection between the concept and movement through expression and physical movement, allowing the audience to experience the special and precious moments in life.

Moments features an ensemble of cast from Maya Dance Theatre, World-In-Theatre (Singapore) and Indian dance artist Ajit Bhaskaran Das (Malaysia). Tickets to Moments are available through SISTIC at $20 (excluding booking fee) and more ticketing details are available at www.sistic.com.sg.

Moments marks Maya Dance Theatre’s inaugural participation in I-Theatre’s ACE! Festival 2009. For more information on Moments, please email Info@MayaDanceTheatre.org and visit www.itheatre.org/ACEF09.html.
