The Legend; The Journey Begins… narrates the classic Ramayana epic through music, dance and theatre with a cast of more than 20 dancers. Enjoy a myriad of dance styles, including ethnic dance forms such as Bharatha Natyam and Wayang Wong Balinese dance theatre.

Directed by Kavitha Krishnan, The Legend marks the first time a Singapore arts company explores Ramayana through the amalgamation of Asian dance vocabularies and contemporary dance theatre.

The Ramayana is an ancient Hindu epic filled with exciting adventures depicting the eternal battle between good and evil through vibrant characters that represent themes of humanity such as friendship, loyalty, devotion, desire, love, anguish, separation, rage, and reunion. It combines the elements of myth and magic as it unveils the journey of Rama and Sita. The Legend tells the story of Ramayana through the eyes of two characters, Valmikki and Vibhishana.
