One of art history’s most renowned figures, Michelangelo Buonarroti (Caprese 1475-, Rome 1546) has been the subject of numerous studies and publications. The Renaissance artist was known for his talent in depicting grand and inspiring imagery and his relentless dedication to perfection. This deluxe volume of Michelangelo. La dotta mano, or The Wise Hand, presents the pinnacle of craftsmanship and the spirit of excellence that follow the tradition of Michelangelo. This book is produced by Italian fine art publishing house Marilena Ferrari-FMR. A gift from His Excellency Andrea Griminelli, Ambassador of San Marino to Singapore President S.R. Nathan, the book was donated to the Singapore Art Museum by President Nathan on 22 January 2009. It will be housed in the National Art Gallery Library when the new state art gallery open its doors in 2013.
