Playground @ Big Splash Outdoor Movie Screening – Free Admission

Come join the Playground family in its first outdoor movie screening by the beach! Wrap up the month of love in this leap year (which happens only every 4 years!) with the screening of a romantic comedy by actor comedian Ben Stiller, underneath the moonlight while soaking in the cool seabreeze and atmosphere.

Not only you get to enjoy watching a free movie with your partner/friends/family, various F&B outlets are also within your reach should you like to munch on something while watching the show.

Drive-through or picnic-style, we let you decide. Just remember to bring along your portable FM radio, tune it to the frequency (for drivers, your car’s radio) and you get to enjoy a cool audio experience!

Beginner Swing Dance Class

What: Eight Week Beginner Swing Dance Class

Where: Johnny ‘n Luna Swing Studio, Dance On Us, Orchard, 8 Claymore Hill, Claymore Point #01/03/4. Behind DFS Shopping Plaza, between the American Club and HSBC

When: Sundays, beginning Jan 9, 2011, 3:30-4:30pm. Intermediate class from 4:30-5:30. (No class Feb 6 – Spring Festival)

Johnny ‘n Luna Swing teach an Eight Week Beginner Swing Dance Class at Orchard. Class begins January 9 (no class Feb 6 – Spring Festival)

Swing is an amazingly fun and energetic social dance. You can swing at parties, weddings, and any other celebration, or just out on the town. Swing is one of the most popular dances around the world, and is enjoyed by people of all backgrounds and ages.

Swing Dance is a combination of Jitterbug, Lindy Hop, and Charleston, combined with Modern, Jazz, and Tap styling. Expert dancers add Aerials (throwing the girl over his head).

Swing is the most versatile dance there is: you can Swing extremely slow or incredibly fast, and you can swing dance to just about anything, including Jazz, Swing, Big Band, Pop, and even some Latin music.

Johnny ‘n Luna teach fun and exciting eight-week swing dance classes, after which, you will be able to confidently dance for the rest of your life. While Swing is a partnered dance, you do not need a partner for the class; all guys and gals rotate partners during the class.

With Johnny ‘n Luna Swing lessons, Swing is rapidly becoming a popular dance in Singapore. So join the club, because after all, life is a party. Class space is limited and is filling up rapidly, so pre-register online at our website.

The Aerial Exit – A Mega Illusion in the Air

Where: Asian Civilizations Musem. 1 Empress Place, Singapore

On 12 Dec 2010, five people will be given the experience of a lifetime when “Asia’s most famous illusionists” (The Straits Times), J C Sum & ‘Magic Babe’ Ning, make them vanish while elevated 20ft high up in the air in the duo’s latest mega illusion stunt.

For the past five years, J C & Ning have dominated the grand illusion scene in Asia with their high profile mega illusions, TV appearances and live shows.

They are well known for their innovative illusions such as teleporting people & cars over great distances as well as setting a world magic record and successfully predicting the national 4D lottery.

Entitled “The Aerial Exit”, this is the first mega illusion that “Singapore’s Celebrity Magic Duo” (Channel News Asia) will attempt in the air.

The mega illusion is the grand finale of the National Heritage Board’s 2010 “Explore Singapore” campaign. J C & Ning have been chosen as the faces of this year’s “Explore Singapore” campaign and as ambassadors for the campaign, they will bring their brand of magic to different museums in Singapore over a four-week period.

The event is FREE and open to the public. Spectators are invited to watch the mega illusion from any vantage point and photograph or video record the entire stunt.
