Anime Festival Asia 2010 is Southeast Asia’s biggest event that celebrates the best of Japanese popular culture and animation. Returning for its third year running, the wildly successful festival is set to dazzle and excite local and regional fans alike.

The event showcases activities and concert performances from highly acclaimed entertainers and artistes, including several who will be making their first appearances in Southeast Asia, as well as returning favorites. Visitors will also get to catch up on the latest in Japanese entertainment, fashion and innovation among the exhibition booths and concerts.

SHINE Youth Festival 2010 Launch

Celebrate youth dynamism and vibrancy at the annual SHINE Youth Festival. Back for the sixth year, SHINE launches with activities to showcase the four interests of Arts, Culture, Community, Environment and Sports. Cosplayers also have a chance to conquer Orchard Road as their favourite fictional characters at the COSMO 2010 which presents a mascot event with mega variety of characters from video games, comics, manga, movies, youth culture and familiar faces and mascots and anime appearances. Join us as more than 1000 youths march down the heart of Orchard Road to the new *SCAPE building. Come on down for some great fun in the sun, as *SCAPE transforms into an urban beach, where you can showcase your talents with street basketball, urban volleyball and join in the Beach Pageant. Be part of the music festival cum night party featuring youth culture such as breakdancing battles, hip hop dance etc and party at the dance floor. For just one day, be part of the youth dynamism, showcase your talents, get into action and be part of this national youth festival launch with non-stop activities for 12 hours.

Stars of SHINE Award Nominations

Are you our next Stars of SHINE? Do you have an inspiring story to share or know of someone who overcame life’s challenges to achieve their goals and still contributes to community causes? We want to hear from you! Simply submit your nominations at www.shine.nyc.sg before 31 May. Three winners will win $1,000 cash each to pursue a worthwhile cause while exciting prizes also await the voters for the favourite nominee! (Terms and conditions apply.)The award is open to youth aged 15-35. The winners will be announced in July. The Stars of SHINE Award, held in conjunction with SHINE Youth Festival, is organised by the National Youth Council. SHINE runs from 3-24 July 2010.
