SG101 Food: A Taste of Singapore

Saturday, 19 December 2009

10.00 am – 11.30 am

Imagination Room, Level 5

National Library Building

100 Victoria Street

For some Singaporeans, the idea of living in Europe, US or Australia may sound glamorous but in reality, living overseas is far from it as most overseas Singaporeans would miss the food of Singapore the most.

What do you do when you crave for Singapore food when you’re overseas?

Dish it out, says Josephine Chia, a writer who has produced Singaporean recipes. She also teaches Singaporean expatriates ways to substitute local ingredients with Western ones. Join Josephine as she shares about her experiences of living abroad and how she nurtures her pride in her Singaporean culture overseas. Josephine will also conduct a cooking demonstration.

Credit Management and Strategies

Tuesday, 15 December 2009

7.00 pm – 9.00 pm

Possibility Room, Level 5

National Library Building

100 Victoria Street

The objective of credit management can be described as: “Not to minimise credit loss but to maximise profits”. At the point of agreeing a sale on credit, the seller assumes that he will collect full payment on the due date; this assumption is flawed if no steps have been put in place to try and minimise the granting of a bad debt. It is important that these steps are instituted and followed before the credit is granted.

Join us to find out more about the importance of effective credit and collection strategy as well as understand about new age credit evaluation solutions from Jennifer Lee (Senior Manager, DP Information Group) and Zac Lim (Account Manager, DP Information Group).

Due to limited seats, registration is required and can be made via http://golibrary.nlb.gov.sg and surf on to ‘Business’.
