Singapore Happenings’ Website gets a new look.
18 Mar 2011
While we have been generally successful in weeding spam articles received through bots, we have not been able to stop real people from posting spam articles on Singapore Happenings.
We have ZERO tolerance for spam postings of all types — whether comments or articles — and will immediately remove all such posts from our Web site.

Installed several plugins which handle spam postings, but had no luck. Tried SABER plugin. It worked. Seems that by requiring new registered users to confirm registration via email, we cut off spam lifeline.
30 Jan 2011:
We have been bombarded with hundreds of spam postings (not comment spam but articles)Â over the past week and are taking steps to rectify the problem. Regret any inconvenience caused.
6 Apr 2009:
FRONTEND: – Introduced ‘How To Do’ category in which we place short tutorials for registered users to learn how to use some features of the TEXT BOX in the posting of articles.
CONTROL PANEL: — Unable to edit/add new post. Message ‘attempt to edit/add post has failed ’ appears. In post-new file in the software script, decommented the line:  //wp_enqueue_script(‘autosave’); Problem solved.
4 Apr 2009
FRONTEND – Placed new login box on top of right-side column.
17 Mar 2009
FRONTEND — Implemented pageview counting for articles/posts.
12 Mar 2009
CONTROL PANEL — Enabled switching between VISUAL and HTML views for the text input box used in posting new events/happenings. Actually, this was a software bug which a new installation corrected. Apologies for those of you who had to get used to seeing such <codings>Â tags recently.

FRONTEND — Enabled emailing and printing for individual events/posts on the Web site. Please see the new icons for email and printing just below the post/event heading.
