Event	Children are Our Hope for the Future: Charity Car WashHeld in conjunction with National Family Celebration 2012, a campaign that celebrates the joy of family ties and togetherness, Grand Mercure Roxy Singapore cordially invites you to join us at our 5^th community engagement event – Children are our Hope for the Future: Charity Car Wash. Staff of Grand Mercure Roxy will be foaming and washing cars to raise funds for children of the lower income families in Marine Parade while reaching out to foster closer ties with the local community. The funds which will then be presented to these children during a Charity Dinner at a later date will go about making a difference to their education. $15,000 is targeted to be raised from the event this year. For every dollar raised, Roxy Pacific Holdings Limited will match dollar to dollar up to $15,000.

Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) will be organising a Public Forum on LASIK – Myths & Facts, 24^th May 2012, Thursday (English Talk).

The programme will also include a section on ReLEx^TM, a new laser vision correction procedure which uses femtosecond laser technology to provide the next generation treatment of myopia and other refractive errors.

The speaker for the forum is Dr Mohamad Rosman, Consultant, Refractive Surgery Service, Singapore National Eye Centre.

Young Champions (Primary 1 and 2)
Specially designed to guide children in their journey to becoming literary champions, this five-day journalistic programme will provide a foundation for the mastery of creative writing, comprehension and vocabulary through enjoyable activities. Each child will be exposed to the writing process, which includes drafting, editing and publishing, and at the end of the week bring home their own prized possession, a personal journal.

Race for Gold (Primary 1 and 2)
Race around the world in JGC’s own Amazing Race, where ‘race goers’ draw on teamwork and problem-solving skills to unravel clues and puzzles, while expanding their exposure to various cultures. Children will have the opportunity enhance their language and communication skills, expand their imagination and increase their confidence in expressing themselves throughout five fun-filled days.
